What Changed?

Documoto now supports subdomains URLs for each tenant, using your tenant key:

If you do not know you Tenant Key, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager for verification.

Documoto will provide backwards compatibility for the following primary domain URLs:

In the future, we plan to phase out the use of primary domain URLs gradually. We will keep you updated on this transition.

Benefits of Subdomained URLs

  • Personalized and Branded URL: your Documoto web address will align with your brand, making it easier for your users to remember and identify with your organization.
  • Improved User Experience and Efficiency: users can access one, or multiple, Documoto tenants at the same time, in separate browser tabs, as well as use a single username to access one, or multiple, Documoto tenants.
  • Enhanced Security: subdomained URLs provide an added layer of security, ensuring your sensitive data remains isolated and protected.

How to Transition to Subdomained URLs

To embrace these benefits, you have the option to transition all existing primary domain URLs to the new subdomained URLs. Below are the steps to transition:

  1. Inventory and Document Existing URLs: perform an internal assessment to identify and document all URLs that currently direct to the Documoto Production environment using the primary domain URL. This assessment should encompass all embedded links found within websites, internal systems, or external applications.
  2. Document Respective, Future Subdomained URLs: after compiling the list of URLs, record the respective, future subdomained URL using the attached worksheet.
  3. Update URLs to Subdomained URLs: use the worksheet as a reference to update all URLs to their corresponding subdomained versions.

For example, if you have an a link or button on your company website pointing to the Documoto login page:

Important Considerations for Transitioning to Subdomain URL

As part of the subdomain release (deployed on October 9, 2023), a new SSL certificate has been implemented for the newly introduced .app.documoto.com domain.

To ensure a seamless experience for your users, please consider the following:

  • Device and Browser Compatibility: ensure that your users’ devices and browsers meet Documoto’s Library hardware & software requirements. You can find these requirements outlined in detail in this article: Documoto Library Hardware and Software Requirements
  • Whitelist Domains: If your or your users’ IT teams maintain domain whitelists, ensure they add *.app.documoto.com  to their list of whitelisted domains.
