Entering Your Address: What You Need to Know
Our system helps make sure your address is complete and deliverable. Here’s what to expect when entering your address.
Why You See Address Suggestions
As you type, you may see suggested addresses. These suggestions help:
-
- Reduce typing
- Prevent spelling mistakes
- Fill in missing details automatically
- If you select a suggestion: Your address fields will update to match the full suggested address (this may include ZIP+4 for U.S. addresses or a completed street name).
- If you don’t select a suggestion: Your address stays exactly as you typed it.
Why You May Be Asked for More Information
After entering an address, you may see a prompt is something is missing or unclear:
- Missing Apartment or Suite :If the building has multiple units, you may be asked to enter a unit number (apartment, suite, floor, etc.).
- Address Not Verified: If the system can’t confirm deliverability, you may be asked to double-check spelling or completeness. This may happen more often in some countries where postal data is limited.
If you see the Unverified Label -
- This label is informational only.
- Users will still be able to submit orders, even if the address is unverified
- The purpose of this label is to guide users to select Edit and confirm or correct the address, either manually or by choosing from the suggested options on the left
How ZIP+4 Works (U.S. Only)
- If you choose a suggested address, the ZIP+4 may be added automatically.
- If you do not choose a suggestion, your ZIP code won’t change, even if the system recognizes a more complete version behind the scenes.
International Address Expectations
Address confidence varies by country.
-
U.S. addresses are usually the most reliably confirmed.
-
Some countries have limited or no validation available.
-
For example, addresses in Peru or China may always appear as unverified even if they are correct. You may still continue with your entry.
