Report Overview
The Weekly User Search Log Report provides detailed information into how users are searching and interacting with content in the Documoto Library. This report can help you understand user search behaviors, optimize content discoverability, and improve the overall search experience.
Report Details
The Weekly User Search Log Report includes the following information:
- Username: The user who executed the search in the Documoto Library
- Organization: The organization the user belongs to
- Search Term: The keyword or query string entered by the user (in the global search bar or the search criteria applied to the Browse Flow tile)
- Search Filters: Any filters applied to the search term
- Results Count: The number of results returned by the search
- Searched From: Indicates whether the user searched using: 1) the global search bar, or 2) navigated the Browse Flow
- Clicked Through: Indicates if the user opened content from the search results
- Content Type: The type of content opened (e.g. Part, Page, Book, Document, External, Image, Microsite, or Video)
- Content ID: The unique Documoto ID for the content opened
- Content Name: The name of the content opened
Availability of Search Log Data
The search log functionality was implemented in Documoto on July 18, 2024. As a result, search log data before July 18, 2024 is not available.
Note: In support of report performance optimizations, search log data is available in weekly increments, only. If you need support pulling larger increments of search log data, please contact your Documoto Customer Success Manager or Documoto Support support@documoto.com.
Report Use Cases
The Weekly User Search Log Report can be used to:
- Monitor search behavior and analyze the search terms, keywords, and queries used by your users to understand their content discovery needs
- Track search methods and identify whether users are searching via the global search bar or navigating to content via the Browse Flow
- Audit search quality and review the number of results returned for specific search terms or filters
- Enhance content discoverability and use insights from this report to identify content gaps, optimize metadata, and make it easier for users to find the information they need
- Understand content engagement and determine if users are opening content from search results (from either global search or the Browse Flow), and which types of content are attracting the most engagement
Report Parameters
All Documoto reports are limited to 250,000 rows. If the report exceeds the 250,000 row limit, use the below filters to refine the report parameters.
