What is a Microsite?

A Microsite is a fully-encapsulated website that is hosted by and displayed within Documoto. This capability will allow for Publishers to zip up HTML5 content, upload it to Documoto as a Media, and display it within the Documoto environment.

How Can a Microsite Be Viewed?

Microsite can be viewed by Documoto Users in the Library, in either the existing tab or in its own separate tab. Microsites are a Media type and can be retrieved via Library General Search or via Browse Flows, with functionality very similar to how External Media (link) are viewed.

Why Use Microsites?

  • Increased Interactivity - By using HTML5, technical content can be created that is interactive in nature by utilizing standard website elements and other elements such as multimedia, audio, video, and more.
  • Data Saving - Microsites are loaded into Documoto in .ZIP format, thus potentially saving on Storage Data for large files created by CCMS authoring systems. These systems have the ability to export content in PDF or HTML format.
  • Better User Experience - The primary benefit that is gained by publishing Microsites to Documoto instead of extremely large PDFs is links and interactivity are preserved which allows for a better and faster experience.
