How to Validate Access Controls

This article describes how to verify that Access Controls have been appropriately set for a Media (books, documents, external links, images and videos). 

In order for a part or page to be visible in the Library, the part needs to be included on at least one page, the page must be included in a book and the book must have Access Controls set.

If a user is not able to see content in the Library that you have set Access Controls for, verify the following:

  1. Is the user in one of the Organizations I granted access to?
  2. Is the user in a User Group that has access to the Media Category I applied the media to?
  3. Did I check off only a parent Organizations, or miss any of its child Organizations that need access?
