The AI-Powered Search feature in the Documoto Library now allows users to search a PDF Document by asking natural language questions and summarizing the document.
At this time, AI-Powered Search is in Beta. It can only be used against an entire, single PDF document. No other file formats are currently supported.
Documoto is collecting feedback on this feature and may expand AI-Powered Search capabilities in the future. To submit feedback in the Admin Center, select Feedback from the left navigation menu.

How to Conduct an AI-Powered Search
The AI-Powered Search feature must first be enabled by an Admin User for each applicable PDF document in the Library. If it has not been enabled, the Ask AI icon will not be available.
In the Documoto Library...
- Search for and Select a PDF document.
- While viewing the document, select the Ask AI icon.
- Type one question at a time into the text field that appears.
- Click the send icon or press enter on your keyboard.
Suggested Ways to Use AI-Powered Search
Documoto AI may make mistakes. It is crucial to check the answers provided.
- Ask Questions - Use natural language to ask questions about the document. For example, in a service manual, ask "How do I replace [insert part name here]?"
- Review References - Beneath the AI Answer '(PDF Reference)' will appear. This can be used to see where AI found the answer within the PDF document.
- Ask Questions in Multiple Languages - Questions can be asked in multiple languages, even if it a different language from the one the document was written in. Answers will be provided in the same language.
- Review References - Beneath the AI Answer '(PDF Reference)' will appear. This can be used to see where AI found the answer within the PDF document.
- Summarize the Document - AI can be asked to summarize the entire document.
At this time, AI can only summarize the entire document. Specific chapters and pages cannot be summarized yet.
How to Provide Feedback on AI-Powered Search Answers
Upon receiving an AI Answer, thumbs up and thumbs down icons will appear beneath the answer. Providing feedback helps Documoto to refine AI-Powered Search.
- Selecting Thumbs Up - This lets us know that you found the answer to be accurate and helpful. You will receive a message that states "Your feedback has been submitted".
- Selecting Thumbs Down - You will be prompted to select a reason why you were dissatisfied with the answer provided.
