How to Email a Shopping Cart

This article explains how to email a Shopping Cart to one or multiple recipients. This feature allows you to share cart details with others directly from the cart interface.

How to Email a Shopping Cart

  1. While viewing a Cart, click Email at the top of the cart.
    • When Email is selected, an email modal appears.
  2. In the Email Cart window, enter the recipient's email address in the Recipient(s) field and click +. Repeat this step for each additional recipient.
    • You can send the cart to one or more recipients by adding multiple email addresses.
  3. Under Format, select the file format to attach to the email:
    • Email as CSV (Required Format for Import): Choose either Email Displayed Cart Columns or Email Basic Part Information (includes only Part Number, Supplier, PartName, and Quantity).
    • Email as XLSX.
  4. Enter your email address in the Your Email Address field to receive a copy.
  5. (Optional) Set the Email Details, including:
    • Email Subject: The default subject is "Shopping Cart and Parts" if no subject is provided. The character limit for this field is 255 characters.
    • Email Comments: This comment will appear in the body of the email. If left blank, the default body will contain only the HTML table of the cart. The character limit for this field is 4096 characters.
  6. Click Submit to send the email.

What Happens After the Cart is Emailed

  • When the user clicks Submit, the cart email will be sent to the designated recipient(s).
  • The cart will be attached as a file in the format specified (CSV or XLSX).
  • The email subject will be set to the custom subject entered by the user or "Shopping Cart and Parts" if no subject was entered.
  • The email body will begin with "Comments" as a header, followed by the custom comments provided by the user (if any).
  • The email body will end with an HTML version of the cart table.
  • The Recipient(s) and Format settings selected for the emailed cart are stored in local storage and applied to the email modal the next time the user emails a cart from the same device and browser.
