Prerequisites
Before creating a Widget User Group, the following must be in place:
- Widgets must be enabled for the Documoto Tenant
- A user must be assigned to a User Group(s) with the "Tenant Admin" and "Widget Key Admin" permissions enabled
Understanding the Role of Widget User Groups
Each Documoto Widget is tied to a Widget Key, which must be linked to a Widget User Group. This group determines access to specific content by referencing the Media Categories assigned to it.
Without a Widget User Group:
- The Widget Key cannot be assigned
- The Widget cannot access or display content
How to Create a Widget User Group
- Within the Documoto Admin Center, go to: Users > User Groups
- Select +Add.
- Select Widget User Group.
- Enter a unique name in the Name field (e.g. Dealer Widget, eCommerce Widget)
- Assign one or more Media Category(s) to define the content available through the Widget.
Important Considerations for Widget User Groups
- Only content assigned to the Media Categories will be available through the Widget. If no Media Categories are assigned, the Widget cannot display any content.
- Users and Widget Keys assigned a Widget Key User Group have view-only access. They cannot create, edit, or manage content within Documoto.
- Standard User Group permissions do not apply to Widget User Groups. Feature access for Widget users are configured directly within the Widget Settings
