Defaults and Capabilities
Below you will find a list of all of the available tenant defaults and capabilities that can be configured for your tenant, along with information on system defaults:
| Setting | Description | System Default |
| Default Locale |
Sets the default locale or language preference for your tenant. Note: the default locale is used in translation fallback logic in the Library. If a user selects a language preference and your content is not translated into that language, Documoto first falls back to display content in your tenant default locale, then in English. |
English (en_US) |
| Default Supplier |
Sets the default supplier key for parts. If a default supplier is not configured, Content Administrators will be required to select a default supplier when creating new a part and/or when creating or updating parts and/or a BOM in Page Builder Note: A majority of tenants only have one supplier key for parts |
N/A - A default Supplier is not required |
| Publisher Default UOM |
Sets the default UOM (unit of measure) for Bill of Materials (BOM) List Settings in Page Builder If a default UOM is not configured, Content Administrators will be required to set a default UOM in Documoto Page Builder when creating or updating pages |
N/A - A Default UOM is not required
|

Other Settings
Below you will find a list of additional settings that are available, though are infrequently used by Documoto customers, along with information on system defaults:
| Setting | Description | System Default |
| Update Media Timestamp on Access Control Change |
Updates the Updated timestamp of a media whenever Access Controls are changed |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Collapse TOC on Matching Page |
This setting is available for tenants that use AssemblyNumber tags on both pages and chapters. If a page belongs to a chapter that has a matching AssemblyNumber tag, Documoto will collapse the page under the chapter in the Table of Contents.
In the Library, when viewing the book, users will not see collapsed pages in the Table of Contents. Instead, when the user clicks the chapter that has the matching tag, Documoto will automatically open to the associated page.
The page with the matching AssemblyNumber to the chapter must be the first page listed in the chapter for the page to collapse.
This setting is particularly useful for Documoto customers with tree or assembly based books, where chapters are equivalent to an assembly. |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Always Replace Hotpoint Links on Publishing |
When an existing page is edited outside of Documoto that contains hotpoint links, Documoto by default will only add new hotpoint links upon publishing. If hotpoint links are deleted or removed from the page XML, Documoto will ignore those changes.
When enabled, this setting ensures that if hotpoint links are deleted on an existing page XML, and then the page is republished, that Documoto will accurately reflect those changes and will also remove the hotpoint links that did not exist on the page XML that was just published. |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Page Hotpoint Links in Book Only |
Customers utilizing hotpoint links that point to assemblies in other books can enable this feature to ensure that users only see links to pages within the book they are currently viewing.
When enabled, this setting disables the ability for users to view hotpoint links on standalone pages (i.e. when they are viewing a page outside of the context of a book) or hotpoint links to pages that exist outside of the current book they are viewing. |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Index on Publishing |
Customers who will conduct mass data migrations or intend to publish thousands of page files at once, can set this setting to "Disabled" to pause indexing. Disabling indexing during mass content loads ensures that heavy publishing usage will not affect library or system performance. Once the mass page load or publishing has completed, a Documoto Administrator can re-enable this setting, which will trigger a full tenant reindex immediately. |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Enabled |
| Delete Missing Translations on Publish? |
When enabled, this setting removes any part translations that are present in Documoto, but missing from the page (in Page Builder or PLZ files) being published |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Lock Part Translation on Publish |
When enabled, this setting prevents updates to part translations in Documoto, if they do not match translations in Page Builder or PLZ files during publishing. Existing translations in Documoto will be retained.
Note: this setting does not affect the display of translations in Page Builder or Page Viewer - which could differ can the existing locked translation |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Index Chapters |
When enabled, this setting enables indexing on Media Chapters, allowing searching on Chapter Names and Chapter Tags in the Library.
Note: this setting can significantly increase indexing load and may impact search performance in the Library. |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
| Export Page File Name as Hash Key |
When enabled, this setting updates the file name of an exported PLZ to use the hash key value, instead of the page file name |
Default for this setting is equivalent to Disabled |
Suppliers
The Suppliers tenant setting allows Administrators to create a Supplier Key to be used for Part creation.
The majority of tenants will use only one Supplier Key.
The Suppliers list displays all the Supplier Keys that have been configured for a tenant, the date the Supplier Key was last updated, and provides an option to delete a Supplier Key, if needed.
