Documoto supports exporting and downloading content for offline usage, printing and compliance purposes and other use cases. Documoto also has a robust set of privileges and properties that control what content can be exported and by who. This article aims to provide clarity on various download and export features, and how privileges and properties within the application affect what can or cannot be exported and downloaded.
What Content is Exportable / Downloadable?
NOTE: Documoto Widgets do not currently support export
or download of interactive content (Books and Parts Pages).
However, all Static content, including Static Pages within a
book, can be exported and downloaded.
The Documoto Library supports the following features for exporting and downloading content:

| Documents | By default, Documoto allows downloading Document type pages and media via a "Download" button. In addition, our PDF Viewer allows "Printing" to a print driver, which also allows printing to a downloadable PDF. |

| Videos | By default, Documoto allows downloading Video type pages and media via a "Download" button. |
| Books | By default, Documoto allows exporting entire Book type media to a PDF via an "Export" button, which generates a job that is accessible via Job Manager. |
| Chapters | By default, Documoto allows exporting a chapter within a Book type media to a PDF via an "Export" button, which generates a job that is accessible via Job Manager. |

By default, Documoto allows exporting an interactive Parts Page to PDF via an "Export" button, which generates a job that is accessible via Job Manager. |
| Search Results |
When a tenant has the Admin Center > Library > Search Settings feature for Allow Export from Search Settings property set to "Enable", Documoto allows exporting all Book, Document, Video and Image type media from Search Results to a ZIP that is accessible via Job Manager.
The Export from Search option is only available if there are 100 or less results in the search results list.
Parts Pages and Static Pages (Document, Image and Video) are excluded from the zipped export. |
Permissions and Properties to Restrict Exports / Downloads
Documoto also supports a number of options to restrict the ability for users to download or export specific content from Documoto, or all content. Below are the available permissions and how they apply in the Documoto application:
