Part list columns, or bill of material columns, on interactive parts pages can be configured to meet end-user, organizations or an overall tenant’s needs. Part list columns can be setup to contain information such as tag values and a variety of part property information. Each column added to a customized part list layout can also be reordered and removed as necessary.

Part List Column Inheritance
Part list, or bill of material, columns can be customized via user preference (Documoto Classic, only), or at the organization and tenant administration level. Similar to a few other features in Documoto, such as PO/RFQ templates or logos, there is an interaction between tenant, organization and user-preference part list customization. Below is a graphical depiction of how part list column settings are inherited.
- Example 1: Only the tenant part list columns have been configured. Both the organization and the end-user inherit the tenant’s part list column settings.
- Example 2: Only the tenant and organization have been configured. The end-user will inherit their organization’s part list column settings.
- Example 3: All three (tenant, parent organization and end-user) have unique part list column configurations. There is no inheritance in this example.
